This joint AITP and ISACA luncheon meeting will feature a panel of three CIOs whose IT Departments have been instrumental in helping their organizations weather the recent economic turmoil.  Join us for this session to learn how they have been reinventing their IT departments to be business partners rather than cost centers—that help drive competitive advantage and organizational success.

Bios:

Derek Baughman
Chief Information Officer – Bank of Hawaii
Derek Baughman has been Chief Information Officer and Senior Executive Vice President of Bank of Hawaii Corporation since April 2008. Mr. Baughman has been Director of Technology at Bank of Hawaii Corp., since April 26, 2004 and previously served as Senior Vice President and Information Delivery Services Manager.

He served as Senior Vice President of Bank of Hawaii Corporation from April 26, 2004 to April 2008. Mr. Baughman is responsible for managing the technology departments and overseeing technology operations, projects and services throughout the bank, including technology strategic planning. He has more than 20 Years of experience in technology management; System and Network Architecture Design; Project Management; and Software Development, Testing and Implementation.

Mr. Baughman Joined Bank of Hawaii In 1995 as an Information Technology Process Manager and has held progressively responsible leadership positions within it's technology areas. He was Project Manager at Science Applications International Corp.

Mr. Randall C. Cieslak, Chief Information Officer – US PACOM
Mr. Randall (Randy) C. Cieslak reported to Headquarters, U.S. Pacific Command in December, 1999. As the Chief Information Officer (CIO), Mr. Cieslak is responsible for the planning and management of information resources, to maximize overall Pacific Command mission effectiveness.

Today, Mr. Cieslak’s goal is to establish an information infrastructure that supports and provides world-class Information Technology (IT) service, plus the highest level of information assurance consistent with operational requirements. He also intends to establish a workforce savvy in computer, network and information tools.

Mr. Cieslak was born and raised in Indiana. He graduated with honors from Purdue University in 1977, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Industrial Engineering. In 1987, he received his Masters Degree in Systems Management from the University of Southern California, specializing in Information Systems.

Mr. Cieslak's Naval career began as a submarine officer aboard the USS OMAHA (SSN 692) where he served as the Weapons Officer. After he left active duty, he joined Federal Civil Service and the Naval Reserve, where he holds the rank of Captain. As a Naval Officer, Mr. Cieslak earned two Navy Commendation Medals, and both the Navy and Army Achievement Medals.

Early in his civil service career, Mr. Cieslak worked for Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard as a nuclear engineering instructor before transferring to the Naval Ocean Systems Center, now the Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, San Diego. He worked on several programs, including the Fleet Command Center Battle Management Program, Operations Support System, Joint Maritime Command Information System, and the Global Command and Control System.

As a system integrator, Mr. Cieslak was frequently called upon to solve poorly defined problems spanning the scope of multiple information systems. He lead the DON CIO Information Technology Standards Guidance Integrated Product Team from 1998 to 1999, as well as the federation of several Wide Area Networks (WAN), Navy’s IT21 initiative.

Mr. Cieslak’s civilian awards include a Certificate in Excellence for Acquisition Reform, the combined AFCEA -- U.S. Naval Institute Copernicus Award, the Meritorious Civilian Service Award and the Superior Civilian Service Award. He was previously listed as a member of the Federal Computer Week's "Top 100" Federal Information Technology professionals.

Rose Hauser, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer
As Senior Vice President & Chief Information Officer, Rose Hauser is responsible for providing the leadership necessary to develop andimplement IT solutions that address Hawaiian Telcom’s current back-office issues as well as support the delivery of new products and services. She joined the company in September 2008.

Ms. Hauser has extensive experience in information technology and billing systems in the telecommunications industry. She also has a broad range of experience with Enterprise Risk Management and Sarbanes–Oxley compliance from an IT perspective.

Most recently, she served as Vice President – Delivery Services at Freddie Mac. Prior to that, she was Vice President – Finance, Human Resources, Billing and Unified Messaging at MCI.

From 2000 to 2003, Ms. Hauser served as Vice President – OSS Systems, Billing and Architecture for XO Communications where she led the successful national deployment of the strategic OSS, Billing and Order platform. Under her leadership, production and development costs were reduced by more than $7 million.

From 1996 through 2000, she held several executive positions at Bell Atlantic, including Vice President of Strategic Billing, Business Solutions and Group Information Officer.She earned a bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a Master of Science in Finance from Bentley College in Waltham, Massachusetts.
