Harnessing Mobile and Social Tools

Many organizations and business are asking how to best use both mobile and social tools in an appropriate, productive and meaningful way. Join us at the June AITP luncheon to explore this topic with panelist that will discuss what their organization is doing and what they see others in Hawaii and the industry doing to harness mobile and social tools effectively. Gordon Bruce, CIO, City and County of Honolulu. The City is launching several initiatives to openly share the data that runs the City. Gordon will discuss partners and technology that is using the data along with the opportunity for the community to develop applications and provide insight back to the City.
Burt Lum, Burt Lum has been in involved with technology, telecom and the Internet for the past 30 years. He's worked as a member of the HMSA Innovation Center, Hawaiian Telcom, the Maui High Performance Computing Center and started one of Hawaii's first Internet data centers. He's written about tech in Hawaii since 1998 and also produces a weekly science and technology show with co-host Ryan Ozawa on Hawaii Public Radio called Bytemarks Cafe. Brian Dote, is the founder of Tapiki, LLC, a Hawaii-based iPhone game development company. Brian worked at Apple, Inc. during which time he was a co-applicant on 4 patents pending from his work on the first iPhone. He managed the MobileMe User Interface Engineering team and also worked on the iTunes Music Store, iPhoto, iMovie, iWeb, Motion, and OS X.
