AITP JUNE Luncheon – IP Convergence – Under the Hood
New applications and emerging technology has led the way for a breed of next-generation voice, video, and data capabilities.  These applications constitute the highly visible layer of IT who’s benefits are easy to recognize, but at the same time cannot be fully realized unless the often unappreciated layer beneath, the infrastructure, is optimized. 

As more applications, both new and legacy, are pushed to the all-IP network, it is often met with mixed feelings as CAPEX and OPEX savings are lowered but at the sacrifice of reliability.  We’ll take a look at some of the lessons learned from organizations who have moved towards the all-IP network, and peek under the hood at some of the issues and solutions available today.   Lastly, we’ll see how cloud computing stands to further reduce ROI but adds to the complexities of engineering the all-IP network.

Speaker – Daren Presbitero  Asia Pacific Director  SNR Systems

Bio:

Daren Presbitero is a former Systems Engineer, Account Manager, and currently serves as Director for SNR Systems in Hawaii. He has been in the information technology industry since 1997 and has been assisting Federal Government customers for more than 12 years in engineering, delivering, and maintaining mission-critical systems.  Daren has a track record of professional-level certifications in the areas of IP and other communications technologies.  His past roles also include consulting with small and large enterprise customers on a transition strategy away from legacy communication methods by pairing industry-proven technologies with creative, quality engineering.
