Nov 2010 Event - Enterprise Governance of IT - What is it? And do we really need it?

November 17, 2010 11:30 am - 1:00 pm at Plaza Club

Enterprise Governance of IT - What is it? And do we really need it?

There is much discussion of Enterprise Governance of IT, or to say it in less of a mouthful, “IT Governance,” but not much agreement on what constitutes IT Governance. What are the boundaries of IT Governance? How does IT Governance relate to corporate governance? How does IT Governance differ from IT management? Do we really need to pay attention to Enterprise Governance of IT? How do we work with the myriad of frameworks and standards that purport to guide business and IT management in building IT Governance capability? This presentation will discuss the nature of and perceived need for IT Governance. It will review the typical aspects of IT governance and traverse and explain the myriad of frameworks and standards. And, finally, the presentation will attempt to answer the question “do we really need it?”
